Can I take up proof reading at home?

I am looking for some ways of making a bit of extra money and thought about proof reading. I don't have any specific experience, but have good grammar and spelling and a good eye. I was wondering if anyone knows how I might get proof reading work at home? Do I need to, or is it recommended that I, take any courses first?
