Can someone tell me the Pros and Cons of becoming a Probation Officer?

I am a business administration major who is deciding to pursue a career as a probation officer. I have been very active in non-profit organizations and have taken many leadership positions. Can someone tell me what attributes are needed and the pro's and con's? I appreciate your help!
