can my boss change the whole criteria of my job without my consent.?

whilst absent on sick leave, I have been ';relocated'; to another office, and despite my protests simply been told its due to ';restructuring of the workload';.what can I do, any sensible suggestions..( dont want to resort to murder ) lol.
